Who Am I?

"For once you have tasted flight you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards, for there you have been, and there you will long to return."

- Leonardo da Vinci

Hey, all! I'm Yanni.

Welcome to my international blog! I hesitate to use the words "travel blog," as a lot of what I write about won't necessarily be about travel, per se. Though I'm working abroad, I don't think I'm traveling- just living. Living, and learning what it means to be truly internationally and culturally aware.

And this is the place where I'll ramble about it!

As of now, I can only speak two other languages besides English: French and Japanese. And when I say "speak," I mean only at an intermediate level! I'm also studying Italian and Greek, but not nearly as intensely as French and Japanese. My next project will probably be Russian.

I currently live and work in the rural reaches of Japan's smallest main island- Shikoku. I teach English at a middle school here through the JET Program. But this isn't my first rodeo in Japan- in high school, I took a tour with my school. My other experiences abroad include leisurely tours around Ireland and Italy, and in college, I took an intensive French summer course in Nice, France. Have I had my fill of travel yet? Never!

So... Care to join me on my adventure? Follow along!
